Faster, Better, Stronger

So anyway's, I finally decided to spring for faster internet service and Max service from Sasktel. boy, it makes quite the difference a few kbps (650 compared to roughly 1500) can make. Having more channels on tv makes a differnce too. I don't watch too mech though, but anything is better than having one fuzzy channel and another that you can pick up intermittently. Anyway's, I wish I could have did it myself, but the Sasktel people had to install some filters and hardwire etc. I got to help which was nice and to move things along a little quicker. I got a new unit for the alway's on connection. It looks so Star Trek. There are some pics on my flickr account (man I love digital cameras)

So anyway's, there alway's seem to be group of people that seem to depreciate the value of Saskatchewan's crown corporation situation. For those unfamilier with what I am talking about, I'll explain. Saskatchewan has several crown corporations. Saskenergy (natural gas) Saskpower (power) Sasktel (phone), Saskwater (water) and Saskatchewan Government Insurance, (auto and home insurance as well auto licensing and registration) Every once in a while, in the news, I hear some talk of some people that are stirring the pot and wanting these organizations privatized. There might be some justifications for this school of thought. I'll agree with the fact it provides some unfairness to private industry such as having the monopoly in the Saskatchewan market. The only one that has to compete is Sasktel, what with Shaw cable and net as well as private company's in the phone business
I feel that having these crown corporations is an asset to the province of Saskatchwan. Hey, they are working for us, financially and also with the various work that they do. I have alway's had great experiences with most of the corporations that I had to do. It's alway's super fast and professional. The people that work for them are really super great to deal with. The installer that did the installation was pleasant to deal with and even though he had a lot of problems, he gavce great explainations as to what was happening and to also how the system worked. Even though it was a day late in coming, he went out of his way to make sure I had everything working. But on the flipside though, I have heard horror stories about how long it takes things to get done. There are also people that probaly represent the .01% of the people who seem to have trouble with these groups. I don't understand this, just pay your bills on time, stop trying to milk the system erc
There is also the financial aspect of the deal too. The rates are competative as well as a lot cheaper that of other provinces. With Saskatchewan Government Insurance (Sgi), the rates are cheaper as compared to other areas such as Alberta (hey, I know a few people that moved out there)
Well, there you have it, my thoughts of the day, I am glad you made it this far.
