Still Loving It

As mentioned before, I still love that song by the Benassi Brothers, Feel Alive. Man I just can't get enough...Never gets tired

Life and Videos

Hey everybody. How goes it? Sorry I haven't been blogging for a while. Just been too busy and all the time, not much to say. I go on practicum next week, that will keep out of trouble for about a month.
So anyways, lately I have been checking out Youtube. I really think this is a great website. I am sure it has it's detractors, but that's goes with everything that people do. I find it really is interesting to see people and what they do in other parts of the country. I figured I would try out the video in a blog too For some strange reason, I can't for the life of me get this video out of my mind. There is no reason I can figure out why I alway's think about it. It's got two things I enjoy though, motorcycles and cars. Here it is

Totally Funny

I was watching Youtube and thought this was hilarious.

So....Okay...What's going down Man

So, anyway's, I have a question for everyone. What is the deal with Inktomisearch.com. Man I got about 20 hits from them on my meter. What's the deal?
I emphasis ?. I don't mind, but what the heck, why so many hits etc. I know it is a spider etc. I got that concept. Maybe it's just me. I don't update that often. Man, I have been in a whiny mood lately

It Only A Matter Of Time

Well, I finally decide to do something about it. I really wanted to find out if the United States had a equivalent of Cdn Money Tracker. Well, it's been in the back of my mind to check it out when I have a few minutes to investigate. Well I found it at www.wheresgeorge.com . Good Old George, where is he nowadays. Well, I am suitably impressed, though their recommendations sucks, they should go to www.cdn-money.com a.k.a. the better half. I get a kick to see what happens to money that gets through my meat hooks. Bye for now

Well, I sorta figured it out!

So anyway's, I decided to try out that Last Fm to see what it's like etc...just because I could. I finally found a spot to put it, at the bottom of the page. I figured I could use it to let people know what I'm listening too and just to see what I am listening too (it's not I like I couldn't tell with the numbers for the itunes play count) But I wanted to try to use it for the windows media player. Which I can't figure out to get it to pick up too. I find that I use both a fair amount. Both have some of the same features that I enjoy, Itunes is a lot going for it because it is less of a hassle sometimes to use. My cataloge is in one sheet on itunes, whereas in my music, I have to sort through the different catergories I put music into,(self induced I must admit) But the pain in the keister factor comes into play when I think I should put in most of the music into Itunes, except of course the bought music,(puretracks of course)
But enough of my ramblings now

Shave And A Hair Cut..... Two Bits

Well, I finally found out that the music notes I would hear ocasionally actually has a name. Wow, I must lead a sheltered life or something, I never knew that, it actually has some history too

Cool Stuff

Boy this is interesting reading. I like reading about norhern communities. Giving the stories of company towns etc is just another perspective. See it here. I find it so interesting to see how people live and what they do. Actually, I feel the internet is a wonderful resource to find out information and communicate with people that I would never know about. Three cheers for the net!!

Pathetic

Man, I can't believe this. People are actually sticking up for the guy. Which leads me to a serious question, which ones are the monsters. Man, that is stupid. I just wonder why people do this, His guilty verdict has been proven beyond a reasonable doubt several miles back, along with his pyschoness(is this a real word, who cares). Why bother, get rid of him

Princess Diana

I am not sure why, but I was thinking of Princess Diana today. Then I came to the realization that she died roughly this time of year. Sure enough, August 31 1997 was the date of that fatal car crash that was caused by the worlds appetite for celeberty news. I will alway's remember that day. I was at my parents cabin for the weekend. Now, there was no t.v., just a radio. So anyway's I alway's remember the time I heard of her death on the radio news. I was sitting at the dining room table doing some work when I heard of it. I guess I could make the analgy between JFK and Princess Diana for the feelings I got next. I felt a profound sense of loss. This was a great person that went beyond the call of duty for charity and also for the her contributions to the A.I.D.S and the cure as well as getting rid of Landmines. I still feel that the Royal Family put together can only match what she did for the people and the image of the Royal Family. The Royal Family still do incredible amount of work, but Diana was the type of people that was truly a good person and it showed and she did a lot for the World. It is so awful that she had to go that way. And the madness hasn't stop

I am still missing her.

Faster, Better, Stronger

So anyway's, I finally decided to spring for faster internet service and Max service from Sasktel. boy, it makes quite the difference a few kbps (650 compared to roughly 1500) can make. Having more channels on tv makes a differnce too. I don't watch too mech though, but anything is better than having one fuzzy channel and another that you can pick up intermittently. Anyway's, I wish I could have did it myself, but the Sasktel people had to install some filters and hardwire etc. I got to help which was nice and to move things along a little quicker. I got a new unit for the alway's on connection. It looks so Star Trek. There are some pics on my flickr account (man I love digital cameras)

So anyway's, there alway's seem to be group of people that seem to depreciate the value of Saskatchewan's crown corporation situation. For those unfamilier with what I am talking about, I'll explain. Saskatchewan has several crown corporations. Saskenergy (natural gas) Saskpower (power) Sasktel (phone), Saskwater (water) and Saskatchewan Government Insurance, (auto and home insurance as well auto licensing and registration) Every once in a while, in the news, I hear some talk of some people that are stirring the pot and wanting these organizations privatized. There might be some justifications for this school of thought. I'll agree with the fact it provides some unfairness to private industry such as having the monopoly in the Saskatchewan market. The only one that has to compete is Sasktel, what with Shaw cable and net as well as private company's in the phone business
I feel that having these crown corporations is an asset to the province of Saskatchwan. Hey, they are working for us, financially and also with the various work that they do. I have alway's had great experiences with most of the corporations that I had to do. It's alway's super fast and professional. The people that work for them are really super great to deal with. The installer that did the installation was pleasant to deal with and even though he had a lot of problems, he gavce great explainations as to what was happening and to also how the system worked. Even though it was a day late in coming, he went out of his way to make sure I had everything working. But on the flipside though, I have heard horror stories about how long it takes things to get done. There are also people that probaly represent the .01% of the people who seem to have trouble with these groups. I don't understand this, just pay your bills on time, stop trying to milk the system erc
There is also the financial aspect of the deal too. The rates are competative as well as a lot cheaper that of other provinces. With Saskatchewan Government Insurance (Sgi), the rates are cheaper as compared to other areas such as Alberta (hey, I know a few people that moved out there)
Well, there you have it, my thoughts of the day, I am glad you made it this far.

Captain Tractor, The Last Saskatchewan Pirate

So anyway's, I was going through my old songs I have on my P.C. Man, I hadn't heard this song in a while. Man, this is a classic in my books, every one of my friends loved it, everybody in the bars loved it, judging by the people who'd get on the dance floor. Actually, one of my friends and people I know alway's said that the Saskatchewan people working in Alberta would alway's go crazy on the dancefloor in the bars in Alberta. I guess that is how they tell the Saskatchewan people in Alberta apart from everybody else.... That along with the fact we are probaly the only ones who drink Pilsner Beer. I just love the Saskatchewan references and it's so funny to me Here's to a good, funny song by Captain Tractor.

Peter Jenkins

Well, here is another post. I recently discovered that the author of a couple of my favorite books is still going. I really enjoyed reading two of his first books, A Journey Across America and The Walk West. Even though I am Canadian, I thought they gave a good picture of life in America. I first discovered Mr Jenkins when I read his article in the August 1979 issue of the National Geograhic. I then proceeded to sit down and read the books and enjoyed every minute of it. I think it is a must read

This is sooooo cool

As mentioned before, the folks are building a new house on their acreage. They decided to use building blocks for the walls as the cement forms. This is sooooo cool.... Its just like playing with Lego. Check it out here

Debbie Travis Part 3

My congratulations to Ryan Anderson, winner of the 250 g's on From The Ground Up. I know I was originally cheering for different people, but he is one of the people who need the oportunity to get ahead too. Let's here it for Ryan....

In case you are wondering.....

Yeah, I have been doing some riding lately. Here is a pic I found off the net of the bike. I wish I had an actual pic of the bike with me on it, but I don't know anybody that has a digital camera and I hate how scanned pics look. I ride on a 1983 Yamaha 650 Heritage Special. This is a picture of a 84 model, but it looks the same as the 83 model. I am sure I be told in no uncertain terms what the differences are between the two years are by enthusiates, but hey, they look the same to me. I am surprised there aren't more pictures around
on the net

Hey Everybody.

Hello. I thought I would get back to posting on the blog. Sorry I haven't posted in awhile. It seems like I have been busy lately. The folks are building a house, which I have been helping with, I have been busy riding the bike, trying to get mileage in and working a full time job. I haven't had much time to do anything else

Debbie Travis....Part 2

What's up Y all? I have been noticeing lately that I have getting lot's of hit because of my earlier post on Mrs Travis and her show, From The Ground Up. That's nice to see I am not the only one watching the show. Anyway's, I am sort of hoping Sheldon will take it all, he has the most to prove in my books. So, I'll pose the question to the people who come to my website, What do you think of the show and who do you want to win? Also, did you agree with Debbie's choices for booting off the show. I think most of them had it coming. Anyway's, later....

Beverly Hills 90210

Hey everybody. This is soooo cool. I was checking out the tube the other day and guess what was on, probaly not hard because I used it for the title, but it was Beverly Hills 90210. I used to love this show. And you know what, I still enjoy it!!!!

Hey Hey everybody. I thought I would add a plug for another show here. I get a kick out of it. Man I just love it. Finally a show with a Saskatchewan taste and flavor. Sorry if I forgot to mention it earlier. I don't usually watch the "idiot box" But this is one of the few exceptions that holds my interests. Man i love this show.

Debbie Travis, Wooooo..... Cool

Hey everybody. Man, I am fresh from watching the latest episode of Debbie Travis's show From The Ground Up. Man, This is a cool show. Nothing like having people of your own age group in a reality show. Check it out here.

Man, ever since I downloaded this song off of itunes, I can't stop hearing it my head. Man, it's up to about 20 times played in the last two days and I still love it. Wow, that has to be a record for me.

Drunk And Retired Podcasts

Wow. This is so cool and I am sooo happy. Cote and Charles answered my questions in their podcast. I had a few questions about computers and they answered em. To check out the episode, here is the link
I have been listening to their podcasts for awhile and really enjoy them. They combine a sense of humor and a learning experience. Thanks Cote and Charles for answering me

The Truth of the Matter

I was just thinking, there are three types of people in this world. Those that can count and those who can't....

Ho Man

Wow, I was just thinking of looking up Whigfield a.k.a Sannie Carlson on Wikipedia. I am surprised that she is still going. I got the opportunity to listen to some of her tunes too. Wow, I used to love her tunes and man, her later music sounds good too. Its nice to see she is still in action. Check out her website at here

Coolness

I guess you would probaly think that I hate bigger vehicles from my previous post, but I still love old and newer chevy's, especially Impala's like these two fine examples....

Man, a classic 64 model shown and a 95 model, man LOVE these machines

Cars

Hey everybody. How goes the battle? Hey, I thought I would talk about cars again. With gas prices on the rise and stuff like that, who can almost afford to drive for long distances anymore. Anyways I thought that I would say that I have been seeing a lot of these bigger cars ripping around town.

Everybody around here seems to love their trucks and SUV's. Each to their own I guess. I just love those Smart Cars.

I got to check one out the other day. It is sooooo small. It was surprisingly roomy inside, even people would not be able to haul much in it. What do you expect I guess. I talked to the gentleman that owned it. I guess it is really good on the highway surprising for such a small wheelbase of car and tiny little engine. He said he could do about 110 km in it, but it was about flat out. I think it is more of a city car, designed that way anyways. Sure turns a lot of heads though when you see it driving around....and a lot of people stop and look at it when its parked on the street. I guess that's the sacrafice people have to make when you have a new style of vehicle and the people around Prince Albert are car crazy, got it on the brain.
I recently got my motorcycle learners license, can't wait to actually use it. I think that using motorcycles would be soooo cheap on gas. I just have to figure out what I am going to do for a motorcycle. I was suppose to have access to another family member bike, he doesn't really ride anymore, but he really busy right now, seeding on his farm. Just the waiting game I guess

Money, Money and More Money

Hey y'all. After having a conversation with one of my coworkers today, I just realized how long ago that the loonie has been in circulation. He said he couldn't remember us Canadians ever having dollar bills or two dollar bills. Young Gaffers eh. Seems like a few years ago when it came out, but I was a kid then. I just checked and what I told him was right though, it did come out in '87 and the toonie in 96. Seems like longer. I still like have coins for currency. It just works so much better, like for car washs and vending machines. I alway's think back to whenever I been in the states and having to use the Coke machines and having bills that never seemed to work. Heck, change machines here never seem to accept bills half the time here either. And I still get a kick out of pulling out a pocket full of change and finding out that I have 15 dollars or something like that worth of change.

People

Hey. So anyway's, reading the papers etc, I discovered this guy. This is sooo cool. Here is a guy that walks across America to get control of himself. This is so respectable. Tho see more, check this man out

Volvo

Hey everybody.
I was thinking today. Just looking at the vehicles around me, I am so surprised at how much Volvo's evolved since I have been old enough to notice. With these two examples that I have pics of, they are basically a safe box vehicle.

Here's a more flashier old school one.

Here's where the difference is. The newer Volvos are so much sleeker and nicer to the eyes. This ain't your momma's Volvo

Rhona

Man, I haven't the opportunity to listen to Her advice anymore because the radio doesn't play it anymore, but I can tell you, I like her style, better than Dr Laura

Madness

Wel, Hi there everybody, how are things going? I am doing pretty good. Everything is going well.
So anyway's, we were taking community corrections today. We got to talking about the monsters of society today. I would just like to say that it would be an awful way to go if anyone falls victim to one of these predators. I really don't know how someone could do this to anyone else.

Friday, March 03, 2006

Hey Ho

Spring Break

This has been a fun spring break so far. It has been cold so far. I would have a link to the Canada Environment for cold, but I can't figure out how to use it yet. I have been doing so much like see friends in Toon town etc. I checked out my site meter this morning and found that I 85 visitors to this little website. This is probaly an hours worth of visits for that guy, but I am proud of it.

Flavor Spray

I was watching Canada Am as usual this cold morning when I saw this. This flavor spray looks different to say the least I understand the concept anyways. I usually don't pay any attention to stuff like this, but I though it was neat.

Super Mario Brothers

Well, I was somewhat bored last night, so I finally broke it out. Yes, my old Super Mario Brothers Game. I still love these old classics. I somehow can't seem to get into the newer ones as much as the old ones. I remember playing this game for hours upon hours along with Contra, Skate or Die etc
